Figures who teach a given life
Twelve witnesses along the same twelve gates
These figures are not a test of belief. They are a meaning-language: call, refusal, ordeal, return. They come forward when the way you answer a gate sounds like summons, gift, and a life poured back out.
The Garden · Ordinary world as given ground

Gospel figures

THE GARDEN
Before the plot names itself, there is a given world — fruit, work, and a belonging you did not invent. The Garden teaches that ordinary life is already sacred ground. See it clearly before you leave it.

THE VOICE
A call can sound like a name spoken from outside your plans. The Voice does not argue. It summons. Write down what addressed you, even if you do not yet know how to answer.

JONAH
Jonah runs because the summons would change who he is to his people. Refusal here is a voyage in the wrong direction. Name the boat you boarded to avoid the work that is yours.

THE BAPTIST
A true mentor prepares a way they will not walk for you. The Baptist points, washes, and steps aside. Receive the clearing — then become responsible for the path it opened.

THE NETS
The threshold is leaving the boat. Skill, livelihood, and identity stay on the shore in one motion. Crossing is not a feeling. It is nets dropped because a larger work has begun.

THE WILDERNESS
The desert sorts hunger from vocation. Allies are scarce; the adversary quotes your own longing. Tests here teach what you will not trade, even when you are empty.

GETHSEMANE
The cave is a garden at night: stay awake while the cup you feared becomes particular. Approach is not bravery posing. It is telling the truth about what it will cost to go in.

THE HOUR
The ordeal is an hour that finishes an old world. Something tears. You do not optimize the tearing. You remain present while the former self can no longer preside.

THE FIRST MORNING
The gift after ruin may look like an empty place and a name spoken kindly. The First Morning teaches you to recognize life when it does not match the ending you rehearsed.

EMMAUS
The road back is walking beside a truth you do not yet recognize. Emmaus says the gift returns in conversation, bread, and ordinary miles — if you keep company with what happened.

THE RISEN
Resurrection is the new life under pressure, wounds included. The Risen does not pretend the ordeal was a dream. Stand as the person who went through, in a world that wants the old name.

THE UPPER ROOM
The elixir is not a private victory. It is a gift poured out so a gathered people can carry it. What you received becomes breath for more than you.
