Figures who teach craft and descent
Twelve witnesses of hearth, voyage, and return
These figures are not a costume of antiquity. They are a meaning-language: oracle, island, labor, underworld, fire given away. They come forward when your answers sound like fate made particular, a voyage, and a gift stolen for more than you.
Hestia · The ordinary world as a kept fire

Greek figures

HESTIA
The ordinary world is a hearth that must be kept. Hestia teaches that a life is already sacred if someone tends the center. See the fire you already live around.

THE ORACLE
A call can arrive as a riddle you would rather not have heard. The Oracle does not make the road easy. It makes the road particular. Write the sentence that will not unspeak itself.

CALYPSO
Refusal can be an island that loves you. Calypso is the beautiful stay — safety, praise, a life that would never require the sea again. Name the shore that would keep you unfinished.

ATHENA
The mentor of this school is craft with a grey eye. Athena does not gush. She hands you a strategy, a disguise, a way to think while afraid. Wisdom here is tactical and kind.

THE ARGO
The threshold is a ship leaving harbor with a crew who will argue. Crossing is not solitude. It is choosing a voyage whose return is not guaranteed, and pushing off anyway.

HERACLES
Tests in this school are labors: repeated, bodily, sometimes humiliating. Heracles teaches that an ally can be your own stamina, and an enemy can be the mess you made and must clean.

PERSEPHONE
The cave is a seasonal descent. Persephone knows both flowers and the dark. Approaching the inmost place is learning you can belong to two worlds without being only a captive of either.

ORPHEUS
The ordeal is walking underground with only a song, and not looking back too soon. Orpheus teaches the cost of art as rescue — and the honesty of failing a test of trust.

THE FLEECE
The reward is a gold that was never only treasure. The Fleece is a token that you went where the labor was. Carry it as proof of a crossing, not as a costume of invincibility.

ODYSSEUS
The road back is a long cunning. Odysseus is not finished when the ordeal ends. He has to get the gift through storms, hospitality, and the hunger to be anyone but the one who is going home.

DIONYSUS
Resurrection in this school is twice-born: a life that had to be torn and sewn. Dionysus is joy with a memory of dismemberment. Stand as someone who can be ecstatic without lying about the dark.

PROMETHEUS
The elixir is fire stolen for more than you. Prometheus teaches a gift that costs the giver and warms the city. Pour it anyway. Civilization is just that kind of theft, offered back.
